Chevrolet has on its official website a preview of the Sail Sedan, to be christened as the Chevrolet Sail, which features a typical three-box design with a taut waistline extending from the front wheel arch to the rear. The front as expected resembles the Sail U-VA hatch, but the addition of the boot gives the sub four metre sedan a more complete look. Like the Chevrolet Cruze, the Sail will also sport a ‘Corvette inspired dual cockpit.’
The Chevrolet Sail will be powered by the 1.3-litre SMARTECH turbo-charged oil burner and the 1.2-litre SMARTECH motor doing duty in the Sail U-VA. Power and torque figures are expected to be a tad lower due to the added weight of the trunk.
The equipment list includes safety features such as speed sensitive door locks, ABS with EBD, airbags, collapsible steering column, side impact beams and like the top end trim version, it will feature a Bluetooth integrated stereo with music streaming.
The company will also offer the 3-5-3 advantage on warranty with 3 years/45,000km Chevrolet Promise, 5 year/1,50,000km
